Fun Run by Michaela and Holly

On the Fun Run we had to run for 40 minutes, and that was really,REALLY HARD! because we had to run for a long time. We jumped hay bales, we went under a big heavy mat and we got wet when we went past the sprinkler. After that we got a juicey and that was the best part.
We got sponsors to give us money and we raised    $3,000:00          for Tomarata School. Then we got to choose a reward for participating and getting all that money. I got a clutch purse and Holly got some monster pens - everyone who did the fundraising got something and it was like Christmas when Naomi and Vanessa brought it all to our class and Mrs Dunn gave it to us.

On Thursday  Tomarata went to the Omaha marae and room 5 and 6 got to have a sleepover .
We got to sing "Utaina ma and Haera mai and Te Hei Maoriora."
We all got to do games at the marae. The games were nuckel bones, flax flowers and also string games, stick games, poi, myths and legends - there was a lot  of games.
We also  saw a whales jawbone at the entrance to the marae and when we walked in we went under the backbone of a whale .
We had a really good time.

Soccer hockey day by Callum and Wyatt

On Wednesday we went to the soccer grounds to play soccer & hockey. It was fun and we won all of the games but one. It was the best day ever.Bryson was in my team but Callum wasn't in my team but that doesn't matter. We won some games. Bryson was good being the goalie.
I like the soccer the best because I got to be the goalie and I got to pick the ball up in my hands.
In hockey you can smack the ball further than if you are just kicking it.
It is fun to try new sports.

Hangi by Malia and Phoebe

                                                The Hangi
On Friday three men came to Tomarata school to cook a Hangi.
First they dug a pit for the hangi, then they put the ti tree wood and stones and irons in the hangi pit.
They lit the fire and it burned down.
When we got to school the food in baskets was ready to put in the hangi.
The lady's peeled the potato and the pumpkin.
Meat had been put into the baskets with cabbage.
Then we waited a little bit in class until it
was hangi time. It tasted smokey and really yum, I had lots of everything!

Wellsford Museum By Nadia and Paige

At the Wellsford Museum we saw four ships and lot of other cool stuff.
We liked the ships best because they have lots of detail.
We learnt how they washed their clothes.
Lots of people liked the phones and ships.
At last the parents that took us to school.
It was fun at the Wellsford Museum!
